Welcome to Middle East Information Center, MEIC

A brief history on MEIC,

MEIC was originally started as a response to the attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001. MEIC's original mission was to collect information from diverse walks of life to better understand the Middle East. MEIC made a special effort to focus on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict because of the scale and complexity surrounding the conflict as well as the many statements inferring "all roads lead to Jerusalem."

As of March 2005, MEIC changed ownership and with the change expanded on its mission to include more conflicts, geopolitics, cultures and religions involving the Middle East as the scope to understanding the Middle East is much larger.

MEIC's current mission is to provide a platform for analysis, debate, discussion and news covering the many aspects, cultures, conflicts and beliefs of the Middle East; because, many aspects, cultures and conflicts go unnoticed as the War on Terror, Israeli/Palestinian conflicts and now the Iranian standoff dwarf them.
Readers and members alike can simply learn or contribute to the wealth of information covering the well known cultures, conflicts and disputes as well as the smaller including Morocco/Western Sahara, Assyrians, Kurds, Hellenes, Azerbaijan, Armenian, Turks/Turkmens and so on.

MEIC is sectioned into 4 major parts:

Commentary and analysis: where prominent scholars, authors and journalists contribute their thoughts and analysis. MEIC welcomes any scholar, author, writer or journalists who would like to contribute, to do so please email: administrator@middleeastinfo.org.

Discussion Forums: where anyone who wishes to read or contribute can do so on all the topics covered by MEIC.

News: a collection of mainstream and independent news sources covering all the topics covered by MEIC.

Library(still in development): a wealth of information from country profiles, to conflicts, to terrorist groups, to geopolitical and economic analysis. The library will also have spotlight projects highlighting specific cultures and conflicts with in-depth commentary and analysis. For more information or to contribute please email administrator@middleeastinfo.org
